The Archive of erased drawings (2024-) explores Self as a momentary coherence. By taking all of the drawings saved throughout the years and erasing them one after the other one is confronted by the violence of erasure and insistence of trace- that which refuses the eraser. The oldest drawings are from 2011, and depicted people, places, and objects no longer accessible to the artist. To destroy the precious memento and yet to be unable to eradicate the ontology of the Self or the moment is a gesture in radical trust in being, and having been.

First exhibited in the Royal institute of art’s graduation show 2026 at Konstakademien, an institution which originated as Ritarakademien which taught drawing from 1735 -1978.

When you draw something you look mostly at the thing being depicted, not at the drawing. When erasing you look at the paper. The eraser therefore becomes a tool in reigniting the drawing- the 452 drawings accumulating into a bonfire of past selves, burning one degree hotter than paper.
